Three children among injured
One person is dead and four others were injured after a car collided with a semi-truck Monday morning just south of Peterson.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Coree Keller, 42, of Popejoy was killed after the driver of the vehicle they occupied failed to yield to a truck traveling southbound on M27.
The truck struck the right side of the vehicle, ejecting Keller from their seat. Keller was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, Nicholas Seaburg, 37, of Popejoy sustained minor injuries
Three children, ages 5, 7 and 11, also occupied the vehicle and were transported to nearby hospitals.
The five-year-old male and 11-year-old female were both transported to Sanford Children’s Hospital while the seven-year-old female was transported to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center.
