Returning after tenures at Simpson, Cornell, U of I
Former Buena Vista University Office of Advancement employee Jared Bienemann will return to campus as the new Chief Development Officer for the department.
According to a news release sent by the university Monday, Bienemann will be rejoining the BVU community after three years at Simpson College where he served as the Vice President for College Advancement.
”Jared’s genuine connection to BVU along with his proven leadership and fundraising expertise, make him perfectly suited to lead our development strategy,” President Brian Lenzmeier said. “We’re thrilled to welcome him home as he drives our mission and vision forward.”
Bienemann first joined BVU in 2020 where he served in various roles within the Office of Advancement such as Executive Director of Development and Assistant Vice President for Advancement.
Prior to his time at BVU, Bienemann held fundraising roles at the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and sciences from 2016 to 2020 where he eventually advanced to Director of Development. His advancement career began at Cornell College where he served as the Associate Director of Development.

In his new role, Bienemann will collaborate with university leadership, the Board of Trustees and Vice President for Advancement Operations, Robin Wissink, to shape strategic fundraising priorities, enhance donor stewardship and support BVU’s ambition growth plans.
